Ella, Help! I Spend All My Money On Nice Things
(you, me, guest star Fliss Freeborn, and everyone else)
Ella, help!
In the last year or two I’ve really started trying to properly cook and teach myself, not necessarily in a “technical” way, more just for enjoyment and to actually eat something that feels good and tasty. I am a student and working on a small budget and I seem to be spending all my money on food and trying to make food and meals for others as well. I grew up with parents who were not great cooks and would often have poor quality meals with no flavour. So, I have had this mindset that to create good food, it must be high quality produce. That doesn’t work on my budget, yet I continue to spend all my money on nice things. At the same time, I know because I’m learning and making mistakes, it becomes a costly task when I cannot save my cooking disasters. I know I could not do this, and work better with my budget, but I find it easier said than done.
